The ELFIGO Travelier is an airline-friendly 8 kg mobility chair for Australian families travelling with seniors. A companion drives it with a Bluetooth remote, it folds automatically to suitcase size, and each of its two 90Wh batteries is below the 100Wh limit most airlines accept for powerbanks. Many mobility chairs are designed for independent users, with the joystick always within easy reach. But what happens when the user should not be driving the chair?

The 8 kg ELFIGO Travelier was designed for exactly this. It is the world’s lightest mobility chair made specifically for travel, and the first built from the start to be controlled by a companion, instead of having attendant control added later.

Most motorised chairs are designed for the rider to drive, with attendant controls or remotes added as extras. That makes them a poor fit when the rider should not have a joystick within easy reach.

Our solution is simple yet ingenious: remove the joystick altogether.

The ELFIGO Travelier is driven 100% by a Bluetooth remote control that stays in the hands of a trusted family member. Leaving out the joystick also makes the chair lighter and more affordable.

The remote also folds the chair automatically to the size of some mid-sized and most large suitcases, so it is easy to take on holidays. Its two 90Wh batteries are below the 100Wh powerbank limit most airlines accept, making the Travelier airline-friendly (always check with your airline), and the CCC-certified battery can also be carried on flights within China.

For Australian families travelling with older parents, it makes trips far easier for everyone.

Disclaimers

The chair is designed primarily for flat, level surfaces. While it has sufficient power to climb slopes and brake on them, manual assistance from the companion is recommended on slopes, as controlling the chair remotely may be more difficult on inclined surfaces.

The joystick on the remote control is miniaturised, which means finger movements are magnified and fine motor skills are required for precise control. Unless the user has good hand coordination, it is recommended that the companion operate the chair.
